Shafted or what?
Last year around September I was stopped by the traffic division... no licence or insurance which I duly admitted so they didnt give me a 'producer' (7 days to produce documents if you dont have them on you) and was told they would report me for prosecution that they were going one way, i was to go the other and not drive the car again. I got rid of the motor the next day. Which I did. Except as i drew up outside the house (this all happened on my own road, was only nipping down to pick Vicky up) I was stopped again by the local police. As I had told the truth the first time I had no proof of being stopped and they said they would look into it, and, being the case they wouldnt proceed with the second one. Except they didnt bother their lazy backsides (or perhaps seeing as it was traffic not local the first time they thought i was lying and/or couldnt 'tell' and assumed I lied). First case was handled in November last year for which I received a £325 fine and 6mth ban (which is now expired). Its taken them until now to get this secondary one 'dealt with'. As he entered the court he was a, shall we say, slightly plump character (hes not even a real judge, not at the district court) and someone mentioned "eating all the pies" and everyone laughed... so 'porky' right away he had the hammer out. This time however it was a £600 fine and 7 points. So thats £925, 6mth ban and 7 points... for the *same* offence. Something wrongs here and I'm going to see if I can appeal sentance. I had no legal representation (was tryin to save the court and the state/myself some money and time) and represented myself. Due to being caught with a small amount of drugs a few months ago I then *did* get a lawyer who was there this morning to represent me. But as I had already pled guilty on a previous appearance there was little he could do except explain I was on limited income just now. And he still hammered me. I knew I was in trouble when porky dealt with the guy in front. Fixed penalty of £60 for which he sent the cheque which arrived late. So they sent it back. His lawyer explained that and "under the circumstances your honour It may be appropriate to re-impose the original £60". Porky quadrupled it to £240. Fat little shite. Ill keep you posted, perhaps not on this blog but those that know me, on this matter. But I feel well gutted. I *so* nearly said something derogatory to him but simply sneered directly at him and walked away. It wont have done those after me any favours but he had that hammer out already anyway. What confuses me is the discrepancy... why was it 325 and a ban for the first one but 600 and 7 points for the second one. Even taking them as individual cases (which I do not regard them as after being *told* to drive home) they were exactly the same motor traffic offences. Porky... I hope you get food poisining and may your arse run like water for a week... whats he on up there? Commision? Rant over. bonas made this comment,
