Ya learn every day

When i tippled I couldnt make the centre I decided to go running up the park... wow.

To those that know the place I made my way up the park lane and stashed my bag/coat in the bushes and started running taking the wee side walks/stairs in order to make my way up to the pond area.

Had to stop two or five times but got there. Had a rest and 'set off for a lap'. Half way around I was dying, by 2/3 to 3/4 my heart was really pumping and I really had to say to myself "push, push, push" (and to all you mothers out there that must seem weak but there ya go :)). So I made a lap then had a rest. Then pushed another out... slightly easier this time but I was dying for a drink. But in order to do so (as I arrived from the waterfall end) I said to myself that I would have to do 1 and a half in order to do so.

So I did. And again it was easier.

The third time around I managed twice and took split times at the cafe, lifebuoy and start point.

Split 1   - Waterfall to cafe   - 1:09
Split 2   - Cafe to lifebuoy    - 0:58
Split 3   - lifebuoy to WaterF- 1:03
Split 4   - Waterfall to cafe   - 1:14
Split 5   - Cafe to lifebuoy    - 0:51
Split 6   - lifebuoy to WaterF- 1:08

So two were slower and one was actually faster and of course it was two laps non stop.

Now given that first time around I was in real pain thats some improvement... I'm suprised I didnt set off any seismometers I tell you yet managed twice around at the end. So I'm pleased and at least it proves my heart is in good condition or I'd be up in the southern by now.

Swimming is ok for plain excersise but for pure cardio-vascular theres nothing like running... I was sweating like a hostage and could feel my heart with my hand about an inch away from my chest.

So Im back, had a bath, nice eatables and feel faaaantastic.

My point to this, as with this entire blog, was to prove that you *can* come through this... there *is* light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh and as I came home it started raining... brought back a memory of why I wasnt always first at cross country at school... it was the rain. If it rained I was first if it didnt was slightly behind the 'winners'. Funny how the mind works.
